Vision Statement : Living Way College exists for the purpose of helping students to better know the one true God and also to equip them for service in the Lord’s ministry. The approach is three-fold: Teach and Equip with the intention of having biblical impact on the Church and the surrounding culture.
1) Teach “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.” (2 Tim. 3:16-17)
Our primary objective is to exalt Jesus Christ. We do that by growing in our knowledge of Him and our love for Him. Like any relationship, the more you know about the person, the more you care about the person, and the more you love the person. It is the same with Jesus. The more you know about Jesus, the more you care about Jesus, and the more you love Jesus. And this knowledge of Jesus comes through the Word of God. That is why we make it a point to teach from the Bible directly, or have our topical classes be derived from Scripture. We believe that “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.” (2 Tim. 3:16-17). Therefore, we place a strong emphasis on the teaching of the Word, not only does it draw us to and reveal Jesus, but it equips us to impact the world for Him.
2) Equip “And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for equipping the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.” (Eph. 4:11-12)
We don’t want to have graduates who just have knowledge in their minds, but skills to be used in the Lord’s service. Equipping takes many different forms. We believe that each student is not only to be challenged academically, but practically and spiritually as well. We want to equip each student with practical skills that they could take and use in whatever place or position God calls them too, so that they may: contribute, serve, and help others in need of Jesus. Furthermore, we want to pour into the students spiritually, so they may stand upon the sure foundation of Christ. If the students are to impact the world, they need to be equipped practically and spiritually to serve others.
3) Impact “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matt. 28:19-20)
Our teaching and equipping is for one purpose, to “go”. We see LWC as a “pit-stop” on the journey of life. A place where a person stops, gets filled up in the Word and in the Lord, and then sent off in the path where God leads. Our teaching, our equipping, is done with the heart to send people to the nations, both domestically and internationally. We don’t want the knowledge, skills and love for Jesus to be wasted; it needs to be used for the furtherance of the gospel and to impact the world for His glory. Each student will gain invaluable resources to do this in their life.
